11th October 08
Kidderminster Lions 10 V Peopleton 1
players of the match went to kath and abbie
todays match was all about passing, communication and team play. The girls achieved
this quite well, unfortunately the final ball / shot suffered. I was pleased
with the team work, passing and more players calling. i swapped the players round
and one of our defenders, kath, took the opportunity with 3 well taken goals.
Leah was given the opportunity to come and play on pitch. Billie was asked to
have a go in goal in the second half, unfortunately she conceded a goal, but
a big thanks to billie for going in goal. Thanks to grace for another great performance
on the left and helping to create most of the goals, jaz b who watched the offside
line well and scored 2, beth for down the left and 1 goal, jaz p for down the
right and creating goal scoring opportunities, thanks to both sophies, ellie
and leah for their defencive work. Please keep working hard, its improving all
the time.
Peopleton were left short on players, but not in spirit. I kept it all even at
seven a side. They battled for the whole 70 minutes, on a large pitch with seven
players. They defended very well, considering the score and got a goal back in
the second half. The last 20 minutes saw the lions get 5 goals. Peopleton never
gave up, they was an inspiration to any manager and to girls football. Then at
the end of the match, after kiddy lions gave peopleton 3 big cheers, they replied
with 3 big cheers and 1 more for excellent play.
thanks to all the girls and colin, give us a call if you want a friendly, well
keep it friendly because i admired your spirit. thanks.

Match Report by
Abbie Walters
On Saturday 11th October, we played at home against peopleton; due to absent
players, this game was played as a 7a-side
game on 9 a-side pitch as peopleton only had 7 players. Playing 7-a-side, meant
that all 13 players
of the lion’s squad were played in rotation, unfortunately Peopleton’s
players were not as fortunate.
18 minutes into the game, Lions scored their first goal by Jasmin Bishop making
it 1-0; Peopleton defended
hard, but couldn’t stop a flurry of attacks, leaving it 4-0 at half time
to Lions. During the second half, despite a
great effort from peopleton scoring their first goal, it ended 10-1. Todays
goals were scored by Abbie (3), Kath (3), Jas Bishop (2), Shannon (1), Beth
(1). Lions players of the match went to, Abbie and Kath, for good teamwork,
good passing and support.
