Ferndale 0 - Kiddy Lions Girls 8

Todays match was against two local kidderminster all girls teams, the girls all share the 3 big high schools in kidderminster and stourport. The match started with both teams playing 8-a-side, but normal play was quickly resumed shortly after.

Both teams played very good defencive play, both teams eager to attack, 20 mins played and a breakthrough from jaz b gave kiddy lions the adavantage, 25 minutes and abbie scored the second. Ferndale worked hard to reverse the play, they created a couple of chances but didnt really give laura any real threat, by half time the score was 3-0 to lions.

Second half was one way traffic, it was all lions with some great play from the whole team, playing some really good football, good decision making and good passwork. The lions girls have worked so hard together as a team and helped our new first time league players, some of whom are playing a year above themselves that, instead of just one player receiving the players match award, it was given to the whole team. well done to all the lions girls, but remember, every game is a tough game and should be played with that in mind. Second half saw goals from jaz b, jaz p, beth, laura and abbie.

Thanks to ferndale for the match, the scoreline doesnt relate to the way they played, ferndale played good football, but most of all they worked together as a team and gave us a tough match.
